Exchanging skim milk for the whole milk in your diet is another effective method in cutting back on calories, especially if you drink more than one cup per day. If you don’t, do you have milk in your coffee? How about in your cereal? These things add up. One cup of skim milk has a mere eighty calories while the same amount of whole milk packs in a whopping 150 - so you would save at least 70 calories per day depending on how much you drink!

Another glorious tip is to eat your sandwiches as open-faced sandwiches. In other word, skip over the top slice of bread on your sandwiches. If you do so, you will save about 8o calories per sandwich. If you eat one sandwich a day, you will save over 500 calories in a week.

Do you drink nothing but water all day long? Nope, didn’t think so - who does? The problem is that drinks really add to our total caloric intake even though we really don’t notice them as doing so. Typical sodas have around 250 calories, and even those vitamin waters we drink to feel better about not drinking the pop have about 150 calories per serving. If you can cut those out each day, substituting with green tea or water with lemon - you could save yourself (and your waistline) - anywhere from 1500 - 2000 OR MORE calories each week!

The previous four tips are good suggestions to help you still eat the same amount but consume fewer calories. To help you lose those ten pounds, you can also eat less. Try to eat slowly. Research shows that you eat about 60 less calories per meal when you slow down your pace. Therefore, if you eat slower for all three meals, you can cut 180 calories a day.
